Why are people leaving the UK’s biggest telephone booths?

Posted September 05, 2018 08:17:07The number of people leaving phone booths in Britain has risen sharply over the past year, with more than half the total leaving by the end of the year, according to a new survey by the Telegraph and the Observer.

According to the survey, which has been carried out by the Telephone Industry Association, telephone booths are the third most popular activity in Britain, behind travelling and socialising.

It said that in the past 12 months, the number of phone booth vacancies has increased by 5.6 per cent, from 645,000 to 656,000.

The most common reasons given for leaving phone booth were the cost of living and the number in work.

The survey also found that more than one in five people were considering changing jobs.

The report also revealed that the UK is on track to overtake the United States as the world’s biggest mobile phone market by 2021.
