Why a ‘hot’ phone booth at the Oscars was shut down
The phone booth where Dominique Booth won Best Actress for her role in “The Revenant” was shuttered Friday afternoon.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news on its Twitter feed.
The Oscar telecast will air Sunday.
Booth, who plays a woman who takes a job as a prostitute in a trailer park, said in a statement Friday that she had lost confidence in the system.
She added, “I feel like we’re all in this together, and the Oscars have made it clear to me that there is no place for me at this table.”
